Registered Nurse (RN)This position is for a Registered Nurse in a telemetry and cardiology-focused Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The nurse will be involved in the care of patients with various cardiac conditions, including open heart surgery recovery and advanced heart failure. The role encompasses patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.Unit InformationLocation: City, StateNumber of Beds: 52 PCU, 6 Intermediate Care (IMC), 14 Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)Staffing: Approximately 80 RNs and 40 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)Patient Ratios: 1:5 for RNs; PCTs manage 7-15 patientsType of Equipment: Welch Allyn vital sign machines, GE EKG machines, Pyxis machines, Philips remote telemetry, and in-room monitorsElectronic Medical Record (EMR): MeditechShift InformationTarget Start Date: Within the first two weeks of MarchShift Hours: 6:00 PM - 6:30 AMWeekend Requirements: 4 weekend shifts per month, specifically Friday and Saturday nightsCall Requirements: Must be available to float within the system when necessaryQualificationsRequired Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experienceCardiology experience with open heart, heart failure management, and post-catheterization carePreferred Skills: Experience with Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD)Proficient in MeditechTypical Procedures PerformedThe unit performs various procedures, including:CardioversionRadiologist-guided thoracentesisManagement of catheterization lab patients, electrophysiology procedures, and post-operative cardiac surgical patientsAdmission of advanced heart failure patients and related readmissionsPersonality FitTeam-oriented with a collaborative approach to patient careWillingness to assist both PCTs and fellow RNsCommitment to following unit policies, particularly regarding patient safety and fall precautionsDress CodeScrub Color: Navy blueNo fleece jackets to be wornUnit Awards and RecognitionThe unit is recognized as being in the top 5% for patient experience among comparable teams.Client Details Address 3801 North Lamar City Austin State TX Zip Code 78756
