About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Level I trauma experience License: State license required Certifications: - ACLS - BCLS by AHA - PALS - TNCC - NIH Must-Have: - Interpretation and Management of dysrhythmias - EPIC charting experience Description: Local candidates are accepted with the same pay rates. RTO must be submitted at the time of application; no additional RTO will be approved later. No RTO is allowed for the month of July. The facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center, Stroke Center, and Heart Center with a Pediatric Emergency Department. Currently, the unit is experiencing high patient-to-nurse ratios of 1:5-6, which could increase to 8 depending on patient volume and holidays. The traveler is expected to work 3 weekends (Friday to Sunday) per 4-week schedule. Experience with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration, as well as triage experience, is preferred. The unit includes a range of interdisciplinary support teams and provides care for various patient diagnoses, including major trauma, neuro, cardiac, pediatrics, and high-risk OB. Modules are not billable, and the expectation is to allocate 5 hours for completion outside of the standard shifts. All candidates must provide proof of high school level education. Certifications must be current and cannot pend beyond the contract start date. The department utilizes a 5-level triage system and advanced nursing guidelines to expedite patient care. Candidates should be prepared for the possibility of floating to the Pediatric Emergency Department if needed. This position requires commitment to managing high-acuity cases and adhering to established protocols to ensure patient safety and quality care.
