Project Engineer

RACE Engineering is looking for a Mechanical Engineer based in Garden Grove, CA who wants to grow into a Construction Project Manager. We are a hard-working, blue-collar company looking for someone who is innovative and collaborative, working closely with our technicians, customers and other project consultants to provide solutions to their engineering needs. It can be fast paced and the ability to juggle multiple projects, while providing accurate results is a must.

This is an onsite role in Garden Grove, CA. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Will be working directly with senior project managers, customers, and manufacturers designing refrigeration and HVAC systems for new construction design build and retrofit projects, drafting extensively for generation of AutoCAD drawings.
• Refrigeration/HVAC system component sizing, duct sizing, pipe sizing and design, and other duties.
• Ability to gather information from our technician and job sites to apply to current projects.
• Provide support for technicians as help is needed.

Required Qualifications :

• Four (4) year degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an accredited college and one (1) year professional experience
• Proficiency in MS Office suite, Excel specifically
• Proficient in Adobe Acrobat (editing a plus)
• Understanding of equipment selections related to refrigeration design
• Ability to handle changes to design requirements and priorities in a professional manner
• Project management skills are highly desired
• Travel and site visits are required as needed

Desired Qualifications:

• HVAC/Electrical/Building Control/Plumbing experience highly desired
• Experience leading projects and teams
• Experience or interest in quality control and ability to look at design and quality of work, while making recommendations on standardization and process improvement.
