Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions, plans of care, and patient goals in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting
• Perform initial triage assessments, implement triage protocols, and identify patients at risk for violent behavior or potential abuse, initiating appropriate safety plans and completing mandated reporting in a timely manner
• Safely administer medications, intravenous therapy, and vasoactive medications in accordance with physician orders, protocols, and established policies; accurately identify cardiac arrhythmias and interpret arterial blood gases and pulse oximetry
• Initiate, monitor, and document thrombolytic and anticoagulation therapy; demonstrate skills associated with intubated patient care including suctioning, troubleshooting, and weaning
• Provide thorough and accurate documentation of all pertinent data, therapeutic interventions, and patient responses; complete medication reconciliation documentation for use by the Attending MD
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to plan and prepare patients and families for discharge, ensuring continuity of care and integration of support resources

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
• Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• ACLS (AHA) required upon hire , or active BLS with commitment to obtain AHA ACLS within 60 days of hire
• AHA PALS required within six (6) months of hire

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• 3–5 years of Emergency Department nursing experience preferred
• TNCC, ENPC, and/or CEN certification preferred
