Are you looking for more than just another accounting position? Adam Search Group has an opening for a  Staff Accountant in the Butler, PA area who wants real ownership, exposure to leadership, and a clear path toward a Senior Accountant career. This isn't a role where you'll simply process transactions. You'll become a key member of the accounting team, taking ownership of payroll, month-end close, and general ledger activities while playing a critical role in a company-wide SAP ERP implementation. You'll work directly alongside the Controller and help shape the future of the accounting department.

What You'll Be Doing

• Own the entire payroll process, including processing, reconciliations, payroll taxes, benefit deductions, and coordination with Human Resources.
• Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining the general ledger and supporting schedules.
• Lead the month-end close process across multiple business units, including accruals, reconciliations, and close documentation.
• Serve as the accounting team's lead for data quality during a major SAP ERP implementation, validating migrated data and ensuring financial accuracy before and after go-live.
• Partner closely with the Controller to develop accounting workflows and improve financial processes within the new ERP system.
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations and maintain balance sheet integrity.
• Support internal controls, including segregation of duties and approval processes.
• Assist with external audits, external CPA coordination, financial reporting, and special projects.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Three or more years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience managing the full month-end close process.
• Payroll processing experience.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• ERP experience required; SAP experience is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.
• CPA or active pursuit of CPA certification is preferred.

• Take full ownership of payroll and ensure an accurate, efficient payroll process.
• Lead the monthly close process independently across multiple business units.
• Become the accounting team's data quality leader throughout the SAP implementation.
• Partner directly with the Controller to help deliver a successful ERP implementation and improve accounting workflows.
• Strengthen reconciliations, internal controls, and accounting processes that position both you and the department for continued growth.
