Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to laboring patients, including monitoring fetal status, contractions, maternal vitals, and labor progression; support during intrapartum and delivery.
• Deliver postpartum and newborn care, perform newborn assessments, support breastfeeding, and coordinate postpartum discharge planning.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; monitor for adverse reactions; document care in the electronic health record.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesia, pediatric team, and nursing staff; participate in rounds and communicate changes promptly.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort; uphold infection prevention protocols; assist with room/set-up turnover and equipment readiness.
• Educate patients and families on labor, postpartum care, newborn care, and early breastfeeding support.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Experience in labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (7:00 pm–7:00 am) and participate in every 3rd weekend with holiday rotation
• Eligible for a travel assignment and able to commit to an 8-week contract with guaranteed hours
• Credentialing and orientation readiness
