Finance Operations Associate

The Finance Operations Associate is an ideal opportunity for a CPA or finance professional ready to step beyond a traditional accounting or audit track and experience how a business truly operates from the inside. Reporting to the Finance & G&A Operations Manager, this role sits at the crossroads of finance, HR, and operations — supporting the people and processes that keep Midjourney running. You'll work with stakeholders across every part of the company, from engineering and research to legal and leadership, and you'll have real opportunities to shape how we use AI tools to make our internal operations smarter and faster. Key Responsibilities Serve as a go-to resource for employees with finance and HR-related questions — from how to pay a vendor to navigating an HR process or getting access to a system Support new hire onboarding and offboarding processes, coordinating across HR, finance, and operations to ensure smooth transitions Help maintain vendor folders and documentation, ensuring records are organized, current, and accessible Coordinate legal requests, including NDAs and other sensitive documents, in partnership with our legal team Assist with organizing and maintaining the shared drive and internal filing systems across finance and G&A Partner with the tax team on ad hoc requests and documentation as needed Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders across engineering, design, research, and operations on finance and G&A matters Actively explore and implement AI tools and automation to improve workflows within the finance and G&A function Support broader finance and G&A operations projects as the team and business continue to grow Qualifications CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred; Big 4 or public accounting background highly valued 3–5 years of experience in public accounting, audit, or finance operations Ready and eager to transition beyond pure accounting into a broader operational role Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; comfortable managing multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously Clear, professional communicator — written and verbal — across all levels of the organization Genuine interest in AI tools and a curiosity for how technology can improve finance and operations workflows Familiarity with Bill, Ramp, or similar platforms a plus; NetSuite exposure helpful but not required Thrives in a fast-paced, startup environment where no two days look the same Compensation Annual base salary of $110,000 – $130,000* 401k plan *The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, certifications and licensure, location, and other business or organizational needs.
