This opportunity near Blue Springs, MO, welcomes dedicated professionals ready to provide vital assistance in both elementary and middle school settings. Ideal candidates for these roles bring a background in school-based or behavioral support, an active substitute certification (DESE), and a passion for helping students succeed. Flexibility is key, as assignments may shift throughout the year to best serve student needs. You’ll need reliable transportation, a willingness to obtain fingerprints specific to the district (at your expense), and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Missouri substitute certification (DESE)
- School-based or behavioral support experience required
- Fingerprint clearance (candidates cover upfront cost)
- Dependable transportation to multiple locations as needed
- Adaptability in dynamic school environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 or small group support as directed by assigned caseload
- Assist teachers in delivering individualized education plans
- Foster positive student interactions and reinforce behavioral guidelines
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and classroom activities
- Adapt to changing assignments to meet student and classroom needs
You’ll begin with a prescreening interview, followed by a conversation with district staff to ensure a great fit. Dedicated paraprofessionals who demonstrate commitment may transition to permanent district employment after six months.
