Accounting AssociateCentral Rent-A-Crane, located in Hammond is seeking a motivated individual to act as an Accounting Associate to perform a wide range of accounting, bookkeeping, clerical and office support activities to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with comprehensive benefits package in a casual office environment.Essential FunctionsCompiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or dataEntering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic formUpdate, verify and maintain accounting journals and ledgers and other financial recordsAssist in month end reporting proceduresUse accounting data to resolve accounting problems and discrepanciesTrack and audit petty cash, assist with employee expense reportsTransfer data to general ledgerReconcile and balance all accountsCollate and analyze account data and generate financial reportsPrepare checks, payments and bank depositsReconcile or note and report discrepancies found in recordsMatch purchase and/or work order forms with invoices, and record the necessary informationIdentifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or eventsEnsure accurate tracking, monitoring and recording of all charges, records and other entriesFile and maintain recordsTransmit information or documents to colleagues or customers, using computer, mail, or facsimile machinePerform filing and general administrative tasksOther duties as assigned.Skills and Experience RequirementsMust have solid general office skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office productsStrong initiative required; ability to work independently with minimal direct supervisionMust be able to sit for extended periods of time and operate office equipment and technologyBenefitsCompetitive wages.
