FLSA Status Exempt Employment Status Full-time Regular Primary Location Washington, DC Job Summary Punchbowl News is looking for a full‑time producer to join our growing editorial team and work on our daily newsletters. This is a key position that includes helping us assemble, edit and produce the AM newsletter and accompanying articles every morning, and assist in producing the midday newsletter. In addition, the job includes editing audio and video for the daily podcast, The Daily Punch. The editorial web producer will also assist with our other products: videos, special edition newsletters, marketing communications, social media posts and live events. Hours The hours for this position are 4 a.m. – 12 p.m., Monday through Friday. Candidate Profile The best person for this job will have a deep interest in Congress; be highly‑organized and have the ability to work under tight deadlines. This position offers opportunities for learning and growth within the editorial team. Qualifications Two-plus years experience in a newsroom is preferred but not required. An understanding of and ability to navigate content management systems, particularly WordPress, is also a plus. Strong news judgment. Ability to write quickly and copyedit. Familiarity with AP Style and strong attention to detail is essential. Experience managing social media for a news organization. Experience or willingness to learn how to edit audio for a podcast. Desire and ability to learn new technologies. Compensation & Benefits The salary for this role is in the range of $70,000 - $85,000. Final compensation will be based on scope, work experience, and relevant skills.
