Key Responsibilities

• Regularly assess patient needs and provide skilled nursing services in accordance with the physician-authorized plan of care and accepted standards of nursing practice
• Deliver direct patient care including nursing assessment, medication administration, treatments, call lights, assisting with transfers, and responding to alarms
• Evaluate effectiveness of treatment plans and patient conditions, collaborating with the care team to update and revise plans using current assessments
• Process physician and provider orders accurately, completely, and in a timely manner
• Follow up on medication changes and order clarifications as needed
• Care for patients on a unit serving medical oncology, medical step-down, and general medical overflow populations

Required Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license (verified Active via LARA and/or Nursys)
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification required
• Active American Heart Association ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
• Oncology experience required
• Comfortable caring for step-down patients
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing work history highly preferred
• Epic EMR experience highly preferred
