Senior Claims Adjuster - Environmental Liability (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Claims Senior Adjuster - Environmental Liability. This role will be based in our Alpharetta, GA, or O'Fallon, MO office.

You will be working with a small but diverse team of claims professionals of various experience levels and backgrounds, in a collegial and supportive atmosphere that values individual strengths and encourages professional development and participation in industry leadership.

The Impact You Will Have

The Senior Environmental Liability Claims Adjuster will proactively investigate, negotiate, and resolve assigned Environmental Liability claims for Large Corporate insureds, in accordance with established best practices and assure claims are handled within granted autonomy limits. You will also develop and maintain relationships with customers and brokers as well as internal business partners.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include :

• Investigation and Reserving of Claims
  
  

• Investigate claims that involve complex liability issues on environmental liability claims;
  
  

• Evaluate and address coverage issues and determine appropriate reserving levels; and
  
  

• Select and direct independent external service providers (e.g. Lawyers, Independent Adjusters, Experts).
  
  

• Settlement
  
  

• Negotiate and resolve non complex claims ensuring cost effective, service orientated solutions
  
  

• Ensure claims are settled in accordance with settlement guidelines.
  
  

• Referrals and Compliance
  
  

• Ensure all claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AGCS Claims complex procedures and guidelines
  
  

• Refer cases outside of authority level, preparing referral documentation and materials as appropriate
  
  

• Support establishment of claims management procedures on new business accounts in association with clients, brokers and loss adjusters.
  
  

• Market Management
  
  

• Proactively support acqusition of new business and retention of existing business
  
  

• Proactivley liaise with underwriters on market management initiatives
  
  

• Attend industry functions.
  
  

• Relationship Management
  
  

• Positively represent AGCS externally to the market and develop and maintain relationships with brokers and clients, as well as other relevant stakeholders (e.g. third party adjusters);
  
  

• Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Claims handling process, e.g. Underwriting, Operations
  
  

• Effectively report and present complex and contentious loss and claims information internally and externally.Support training, developing, and coaching of less experienced staff.
  
  

• Claims Processing & Administration
  
  

• Input and maintain accurate claims records for designated accounts, within appropriate AGCS Claims administration systems
  
  

• Manage timely production of management information reports (e.g. monthly major claims movements) and proactively identify loss trends.Ensure all claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AzC Claims complex procedures and guidelines.
  
  

What You'll Bring to the Role

• 3-5 years' experience in proven track record in handling Commercial General Liability claims involving complex coverage and damage issues.
  
  

• Demonstrate established relationships with brokers at peer group level and well established within local market.
  
  

• Have an expert understanding of Commercial General Liability products and portfolio, with expert understanding of coverage and application in the adjustment process.
  
  

• In-depth understanding of regional / local Liability insurance markets and competitor landscape
  
  

• Detailed understanding of legal and regulatory framework
  
  

• Experience working in a complex, global matrix organization.
  
  

• AI - A willingness to learn and explore how AI can enhance your role and the broader organization is expected.
  
  

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
  
  

The annualized base pay range for this role is $78,909 - $132,236. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
