STUDENT TRANSPORTATION DRIVER

Location: Concord / Charlotte, North Carolina

Pay: $18.00–$19.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Schedule: Monday–Friday and/or Saturday opportunities available

Express Employment Professionals is seeking dependable Student Transportation Drivers to provide safe, reliable, and professional transportation for adult students traveling to and from educational and career-training programs.

Position Summary

The Student Transportation Driver is responsible for safely transporting adult students between designated pickup locations and their educational destination.

Drivers will follow assigned routes that may include multiple pickup and drop-off locations, maintain a professional and welcoming environment, and ensure passengers arrive safely and on time.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys driving, working with people, and providing dependable customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a company passenger van along assigned routes.

• Pick up students from designated locations.

• Transport students to and from their educational destination.

• Follow assigned routes, schedules, and designated stops.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and professional vehicle environment.

• Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle as needed.

• Ensure students properly clock in and complete required transportation waivers.

• Follow all company transportation, safety, and operating procedures.

• Use company-provided technology for route and transportation operations.

• Communicate professionally with passengers and Express Employment Professionals.

• Report delays, vehicle concerns, incidents, or route issues promptly.

• Complete required vehicle inspections and documentation.

• Maintain confidentiality regarding passenger information.

• Represent Express Employment Professionals professionally at all times.

Available Schedules

Team A – Monday–Friday

Morning Route: Start 6:30 AM; pick up company van at designated location; complete assigned multiple-stop student pickup route; arrive at destination approximately 8:00 AM; estimated route time 1.5–2 hours.

Afternoon Route: Arrive at destination 5:00 PM; depart 5:10 PM; transport students to assigned drop-off locations; estimated route time 1.5–2 hours.

Qualified drivers may work both morning and afternoon routes for additional hours.

Team B – Monday–Friday Evening

5:00 PM–9:00 PM: Pick up van at designated location; pick up evening students along the assigned route; transport students to their educational destination; pick up students at the end of their program; transport students to assigned destinations; estimated route time 1.5–2 hours.

Team C – Saturday Lead Driver

Morning Route: Start 6:30 AM; pick up van at designated location; complete assigned multiple-stop student pickup route; arrive at destination approximately 8:00 AM; estimated route time 1.5–2 hours.

Afternoon Route: Arrive at destination 12:00 PM; depart 12:10 PM; transport students to assigned destinations; estimated route time 1.5–2 hours.

Saturday Lead Drivers may be eligible for additional hours based on operational needs.

Compensation

$18.00–$19.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and applicable driving experience.

Drivers scheduled for qualifying route assignments will receive a minimum of 4 hours of pay.

Additional hours may be available for drivers who are able to work multiple routes or weekend assignments.

Qualifications

Required

• Valid driver’s license.

• Clean and acceptable driving record.

• Reliable transportation to the designated company vehicle pickup location.

• Ability to safely operate a passenger van.

• Ability to follow GPS/navigation and assigned routes.

• Strong attendance and punctuality.

• Professional appearance and demeanor.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to work independently.

• Ability to interact professionally with adult students.

Preferred

• Previous passenger transportation experience.

• Shuttle, paratransit, school transportation, rideshare, delivery, or similar driving experience.

• CDL experience or passenger endorsement.

• Commercial driving experience.

• Customer service experience.

• Experience transporting students or working with educational programs.

• CDL experience is a plus but is not required for this position, provided the candidate meets all applicable company and regulatory requirements.

• Immediately report safety concerns or vehicle issues.

• Follow all required company policies and procedures.

• Protect passenger privacy and confidential information.

• Never operate the vehicle while impaired or distracted.
