Maintenance Supervisor III - Pipe Shop

Description Position Summary: Supervisory position responsible for overseeing all pipefitting functions, including the overhaul, repair, maintenance, and installation of all equipment involving piping. Will schedule and inspect pipefitting work to ensure performance standards are met for all plumbing and piping systems. Minimum Requirements Requirements: Must be knowledgeable in all facets of pipefitting methods and have extensive experience in the overhaul, repair, and replacement of complex process piping, valving and associated devices. Must be able to read and understand plans, isometric blueprints, specifications and details. Must have knowledge of the PVSC treatment process, hydraulic and pneumatic power systems, and the basic principles of rigging and millwright work. Must have knowledge of the safety precautions that must be exercised when performing maintenance and repair tasks. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a Pipefitter I or equivalent experience from an external position. Education: High school diploma, vocational school diploma or equivalency certificate. Advanced training at a technical college or trade school. License and/or Certifications: Must have a valid New Jersey driver's license. To Apply: All applicants must meet the NJ First Act residency requirements. Physical Demands Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without a reasonable accommodation to ensure the health and safety of oneself and others are maintained. Perform physical activities that require considerable use of the arms, legs and the whole body such as sitting, standing, climbing (including ladders), lifting up to 50 lbs., balancing, walking, stooping, pushing, pulling, and handling heavy objects. Must qualify for and possess the ability to perform entry into confined spaces while wearing proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as, but not limited to, canister and dust masks, as well as SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) in compliance with PVSC’s Facial Hair Grooming Policy. Working Conditions Workers are employed in conditions associated with a wastewater treatment plant and sewer collection system and will be required to work indoors and outdoors. The expected base pay range for this position is $111,852 to $139,765. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, education, training, and formal credentials.
