Total patient care for the Emergency Department Observation and Inpatient involves three levels of care: IMU, Telemetry, and Med Surg. The RN must be qualified to care for the highest level of care, IMU, and have special training in critical care, oncology concepts, surgery, and medicine. Nurses hired into this area will have the opportunity to apply to the New to Emergency Room Transition to Practice program after one year. Minimum Qualifications Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing. Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of California. BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire, with commitment to obtain ART within six (6) months. Minimum one (1) year of recent RN experience in an acute care inpatient setting at the IMU/PCU level or higher acuity. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Able to work within a busy team environment. Preferred Qualifications BSN or MSN. Recent acute care ICU, Observation, or ED Inpatient (EDIP) experience. Special Conditions Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on‑call, and locations based on the 24‑hour Medical Center's business needs. Employment is subject to a criminal background check and a pre‑employment physical. Selected candidates may be hired at the CNIII level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $138,330 - $193,892 (prorated if appointment percentage is less than 100%). Hourly Equivalent: $66.25 - $92.86.
