Advanced Practice Provider - Neurosurgery *Night Shift*

10 Nationwide Children's Hospital

Overview 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week Night Shift . Three 12-hour shifts each week (4 hours of Admin time). 1 weekend required per month. Competitive benefits package and pay based on experience level. Job Description Summary Provides healthcare to individuals or groups that requires knowledge and skill obtained from advanced formal education, certification and clinical experience. Practices within professional scope and promotes patient advocacy in accordance with the profession’s Code of Ethics and maintains a current Ohio Advanced License. Job Description Essential Functions: Assesses patients and/or populations. Develops, implements and evaluates plans of care. Clearly documents and communicates information both in written and verbal forms. Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to established guidelines and standards as necessary for the care of the patient. Utilizing evidence based practice, serves as a clinical expert for policies, procedures, documentation, and skills. Assists in the education, training and development of new and existing staff members. Engages in the 'community of the work unit' by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, engages in Quality Improvement. Leverages technology and informatics to optimize healthcare outcomes. Commits to continued professional development of self and others. Contributes to the division and/or specialty goals and the Hospital Strategic Plan. Education Requirement Master of Science or equivalent provision, required. Licensure Requirement Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Ohio, required. Certifications Maintains national certification as APRN in the appropriate population foci for the position, or PA, required. Physical Requirements OCCASIONALLY: Bend/twist, Biohazard waste, Blood and/or Bodily Fluids, Climb stairs/ladder, Communicable Diseases and/or Pathogens, Fume /Gases /Vapors, Lifting / Carrying: 41-60 lbs, Lifting / Carrying: 61-100 lbs, Loud Noises, Patient Equipment, Pushing / Pulling: 100 lbs or greater with assistance, Pushing / Pulling: 61-100 lbs, Sitting, Squat/kneel FREQUENTLY: Chemicals/Medications, Computer skills, Decision Making, Hand use: grasping, gripping, turning, Lifting / Carrying: 0-10 lbs, Lifting / Carrying: 11-20 lbs, Lifting / Carrying: 21-40 lbs, Pushing / Pulling: 0-25 lbs, Pushing / Pulling: 26-40 lbs, Pushing / Pulling: 41-60 lbs, Repetitive hand/arm use, Standing, Walking CONTINUOUSLY: Audible speech, Color vision, Depth perception, Hearing acuity, Interpreting Data, Peripheral vision, Problem solving, Seeing – Far/near The above list of duties is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by individuals assigned to this classification.
