The Edgewater offers the highest quality of customer service delivered to our guests both in and out of our banquet events. Our bartenders take pride in delivering exceptional service to their customers directly, as well as supporting each other and all members of The Edgewater team to execute flawless events.

In addition to setting up event spaces, the Banquet Setup Supervisor assists in the training, supervision and operational efficiencies of the Banquet Department.

What You Have

• The ability to report to work on time and ready to get to work, and touch base with your Manager when you arrive.
• The focus to delegate daily and weekly assignments to your setup team, ensuring consistent on-time setup of event spaces.
• The desire to provide support to all banquet staff - before, during and after events.
• The drive to lead by example when working the banquet areas with your setup teams.
• The ability to read and understand all details of Banquet Event Orders, including start time and beverage requirements.
• The desire to greet all guests in a positive manner.
• The willingness to quickly and efficiently handle all guest requests.
• The flexibility to work nights and weekends.
• The strength to move tables and chairs in and out of our banquet facilities and set them up for events according to provided floorplans.
• The mindset to work safely per established safety standards and report any potential safety hazards in the setup of event rooms, acting on them to create safe working spaces.
• Effectively communicates with the kitchen, catering coordinators and banquet staff.
• Efficiently communicate any challenges, guest complaints or requests to the Banquet Captain.
• Perform other related duties that may be assigned by Banquet Captain/supervisor/manager.

• Basic knowledge of fine dining and good knowledge of wines/beverages

• Combined 2+ year's previous hotel and/or food and beverage service (Preferred)

Working Conditions

This position operates in event spaces, and restaurant setting. This position requires evening/weekend work and some work outdoors. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, pinching, falls and burns.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and smell. The employee must be capable of lifting and/or moving objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. There is substantial repetitive motion of the wrists, hands and fingers.
