Dental Assistant

Job Title: Dental Assistant w/ X-ray Department/Location: Operations Reports to: Dental Practice Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Position Summary As a Dental Assistant, you will help support the clinical needs of our patients and doctors. The duties include patient care, recordkeeping, appointment scheduling, and working closely with dental hygienists under the supervision of dentists. Duties and Responsibilities Demonstrate knowledge of dental instruments and assist the dentist chairside. Maintain inventory control in the operatories. Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, and CDC guidelines. Deliver world‑class patient interactions related to scheduling, follow‑up, post‑surgical information, and record keeping. Perform basic lab procedures such as take impressions, pour models, and prepare cases for external labs. Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned. Qualifications High School diploma or GED required. Easily learn technologies and systems; demonstrate desire to learn. Applicable licensing required for the state in which you will work: For NJ – Dental Radiologic Technologist (DRT) license or willing to pursue licensure immediately required. For MD – Dental Radiologic Technologist (DRT) license or willing to pursue licensure immediately required. For PA – Radiation Health and Safety certificate or willing to pursue licensure immediately required. Certified Dental Assistant preferred. 1+ years experience as a Dental Assistant preferred. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Requires flexibility in scheduling, including evenings and weekends as needed. X‑ray License required. Active CPR Certification required. Knowledge and Skills / Expected Competencies Knowledge of dental instruments and patient care. Ability to clearly communicate medical information to practitioners and/or the general public. Excellent organization, prioritization, follow‑up, analytical and time‑management skills to handle multiple priorities.
