In this role, you will be on the front lines of patient care, providing essential daily support to our residents and ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. As a primary caregiver for our nursing home residents, you will work closely with nurses and the broader healthcare team to deliver high-quality, personalized care. Direct Resident Care: Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Assist residents with daily tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, and toileting, while maintaining their privacy and dignity. Mobility Support: Safely transfer residents between beds, wheelchairs, and other locations. Assist with walking, turning, and repositioning bedridden residents to prevent bedsores. Nutrition and Hydration: Serve meals, assist residents with eating and drinking as needed, and closely monitor food and fluid intake. Ensure dietary restrictions and preferences are respected. Clinical Support & Safety: Vital Signs Monitoring: Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration. Observation and Reporting: Monitor residents for any changes in physical or mental condition, injuries (such as bruises or skin tears), or complaints of pain, and report findings to the supervising nurse immediately. Sanitation: Maintain a clean and sanitized environment by changing bed linens, disposing of waste, cleaning spills, and adhering strictly to infection control protocols. Emotional & Social Support: Companionship: Build trusting relationships with residents, providing emotional support, patience, and companionship to reduce anxiety and loneliness. Communication: Act as a liaison between residents, their families, and the medical staff, communicating effectively while adhering to HIPAA and confidentiality regulations. Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of resident care, vital signs, and daily activities in the facility’s electronic health records (EHR) system. Qualifications & Requirements Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Certification: Active and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of [State]. CPR/BLS: Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Experience: Previous experience in a nursing home, long-term care, or assisted living facility is strongly preferred but not required. Technical Skills: Basic computer skills and familiarity with medical documentation or EHR systems. Skills & Physical Requirements Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, walk, bend, and safely lift or move residents and equipment (must be able to lift up to [e.g., 50 lbs]).
