We are seeking dedicated Biological Field Technicians for a seasonal temporary position starting June 2025 through June 2026 or beyond, depending on project needs. The role involves implementing post-construction mortality monitoring at wind facilities, including locations in Arizona, Indiana, Texas, Colorado, or Wyoming, specifically southeast of Denver, CO. Responsibilities: Conduct mortality monitoring beneath wind turbines. Identify and record bird and bat carcasses. Collect data on fatalities accurately. Perform bias trials such as searcher efficiency and carcass persistence trials. Work outdoors in various weather and terrain conditions. Drive and navigate off-road using a 4WD vehicle. Utilize GPS, compass, range finder, iPad, and cameras during fieldwork. Follow safety protocols, including defensive driving and site-specific guidelines. Perform additional related tasks as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in natural resources, wildlife management, biology, or related field. Interest or experience with bats and/or birds preferred; enthusiasm encouraged. Strong identification skills are a plus but not required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ESRI Field Maps, and safety protocols. Ability to work independently, detail-oriented, positive attitude. Effective communication skills with team members and clients. Ability to walk long distances in variable outdoor conditions, up to 12 miles per day. Comfort with outdoor hazards such as wildlife, insects, and vegetation. Valid driver’s license in good standing. This is a temporary position without benefits.
