Do you enjoy solving spatial challenges, working with technology, and creating clear, organized designs? Root Integrated Systems is looking for an AV Design Coordinator to help transform customer needs into professional, buildable audiovisual plans.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with our Sales, Design, Engineering, Operations, and Field Teams, as well as customers, architects, and contractors. You’ll develop AV layouts that integrate technology seamlessly into commercial spaces while considering aesthetics, sightlines, viewing angles, camera coverage, accessibility, serviceability, and overall room functionality.
Using AutoCAD and Revit, you’ll create and maintain construction documents such as equipment layouts, floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, and installation details. You’ll also identify potential design conflicts early, helping ensure each system can be installed successfully.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys blending technology, architecture, and creative problem-solving. You do not need to be an AV engineer. What matters most is your ability to understand how people use a space and how technology should fit within it.

- Producing accurate, coordinated, and buildable AV documentation
- Identifying design and coordination issues before installation
- Maintaining organized project information and consistent drawing standards
- Communicating effectively with internal teams and external project partners
- Managing multiple projects with strong attention to detail
Ideal Background
Candidates may have experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Architectural drafting or commercial space planning
- BIM or Revit coordination
- Audiovisual system layout or design
- Technology integration or low-voltage systems
- Electrical or technology construction documentation
- Commercial construction coordination
- Audiovisual installation
Direct audiovisual industry experience is helpful but not required for candidates with a strong background in architecture, drafting, BIM, or construction documentation.
