POSITION SUMMARY:
The Fitness Instructor leads engaging group fitness and wellness classes that promote active living, strength, mobility, independence, and healthy aging for residents. Programming supports LCS Lifestyles and Health Services and the 8 Dimensions of Wellness .
This role is a part-time position up to 25 hours weekly!
Essential Job Duties:
- Lead a regular schedule of group fitness classes including:
- Aerobics & Cardio
- Zumba & Dance Fitness
- Pilates & Core Strengthening
- Strength Training
- Balance, Flexibility, & Mobility
- Low-impact & Chair-based exercise
- Modify exercises to accommodate different fitness levels and abilities.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and motivating class environment.
- Assist with special fitness events, wellness programs, and Active Aging Week.
- Set up and break down equipment and maintain attendance records.
- Research and recommend new fitness, wellness, and enrichment opportunities.
- Support select recreational, educational, and social programs that promote the 8 Dimensions of Wellness.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience leading group fitness classes, preferably with older adults.
- CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required.
- Strong communication skills and ability to adapt exercises to individual needs.
