Process Development Engineer III, Data Science

We are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join our Data Enablement and Analytics (DEA) team within Preclinical Manufacturing and Process Development (PMPD). You'll develop, build, and deploy analyses and machine learning models that support bioprocess development, working at the intersection of software engineering, data science, and bioprocess domain expertise. You'll partner closely with scientists and process engineers, and mentor and coordinate citizen data scientists, to streamline workflows, enable automation, and accelerate decision-making across PMPD.This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing, science-driven organization making a meaningful difference to patients worldwide.When & where:Shift Requirements: Full-time, standard business hours, with flexibility to support before- and after-hours executive meetings, town halls, and corporate eventsLocation: On-site in Tarrytown, NYFlexibility & travel: Minimal to no travel; must be available on-site consistently, 4 days per week at minimumDiscover your role:Partner closely with scientists, engineers, and analysts to understand bioprocess workflows and identify high-impact data science opportunitiesAcquire, clean, and structure complex datasets to enable scalable, repeatable analysesDesign, develop, and apply advanced analytics and machine learning models to drive data-informed decision-makingDeploy models into production environments, enabling automated and autonomous operations where appropriateLead, mentor, and coordinate citizen data scientists on critical initiatives across PMPDEnhance, maintain, and extend existing analytics tools and platforms to support new use cases and evolving business needsContribute as an active member of Agile teams within a Scaled Agile Framework, supporting planning, delivery, and continuous improvementContinuously evaluate emerging technologies and methodologies to strengthen data science capabilities within the organizationThis role requires:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline, with 5-7 years of experience in bioprocess development, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or a closely related domainDemonstrated ability to apply machine learning and predictive analytics to complex, real-world problemsStrong programming skills in Python and SQL, with a solid understanding of data modeling and database designExperience working in Linux/Unix environments and using Git for version control and collaborationExcellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to partner effectively with scientists, engineers, and analysts, while mentoring citizen data scientistsFamiliarity with DevOps and deployment technologies such as Kubernetes, NixOS, and Jenkins is preferredExperience with Operational Technology and analytics platforms (e.g., PI Historian, OPC, MQTT, Dataiku, Seeq) is a plusDoes this sound like you?
