Run the crane that sets steel and precast for hospitals, schools, distribution centers, and commercial buildings across the Sioux Falls region. When you are not in the cab, you are part of the crew on the deck - welding, decking, signaling, and rigging. More variety, more hours, and a real role on the team. Day work. Home every night.

What You Will Do

1. Operate lattice boom crawler, hydraulic swing cab, tower crane, skid steer, forklift, excavator, and helical installation equipment as the project requires.
2. Manipulate crane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal, or signal instructions.
3. Place blocks and outriggers to prevent capsizing when lifting heavy loads.
4. Bolt boom sections together to extend or modify the boom for lifting functions.
5. Inspect the crane daily for safety issues and identify malfunctions before they become problems.
6. Lead all crane and lifting safety on the job. Build the trust that lets the crew work confidently around your machine.
7. Step in on the deck when not in the cab - welding, decking, material layout, and rigging alongside the ironworkers.
8. Read plans, specifications, and shop drawings to support accurate erection.

What You Bring

• Five years of heavy equipment or crane operation experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• NCCCO certification, or the ability to earn it. We will support you through the process.
• Experience erecting steel and precast structures preferred.
• Working knowledge of equipment maintenance and a habit of catching issues early.
• Comfort operating in varying weather conditions and at heights.
• Valid driver's license. Class A CDL preferred for moving the crane and equipment between job sites.
• AWS 1.1 (3G, 4G ") welding certification on the SMAW process is a plus.
• Must be 18 or older to safely work in a construction environment.

This is a primarily field-based role. The work environment described below is representative of what an employee will encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodation may be provided.

• Move about on foot consistently across job sites with unfinished and uneven surfaces.

• Lift and transfer materials from ground to overhead consistently; move material up to 50 lbs. frequently.
• Safely use hand and power tools.
