Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a high-acuity ICU Stepdown / PCU unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Monitor and manage patients utilizing telemetry, transport monitors, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow, chest tubes, tracheostomies, pacer wires, and IV/feeding pumps
• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips including heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, Lasix, torsemide, and ketamine
• Perform and assist with procedures including chest tube placement and removal, pacer wire removal, and 12-lead EKGs
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including RNs, PCTs, and charge nurses across day and night shifts
• Document patient care accurately using the Meditech EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted RN license valid in Colorado (or compact eligibility)
• Minimum 1 year of current PCU / Stepdown experience
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Extensive neurological nursing experience
• Cardiac nursing experience in a PCU or stepdown setting
• Familiarity with high-acuity cardiac drip management and complex monitoring equipment
• Strong team-player mentality with high energy in a fast-paced environment
