Electrical Engineering Intern

Dewberry is seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to work in our Raleigh, NC office. This position performs assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks.

Responsibilities

This individual will work in a multi-discipline, team environment with primary responsibility of assisting with the design and production of electrical construction documents for commercial and institutional projects as well as the design of building systems (power distribution and lighting) and life safety plans for various infrastructure projects.

Required Skills & Required Experience

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering required.
• Previous internship experience in electrical engineering is preferred.
• Applicants should have exposure to related electrical engineering design, strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
• Prepare electrical engineering calculations, reports, construction drawings and specifications to meet project requirements.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT and good working knowledge of MS Word and Excel required.

Summer Intern Program

During the summer intern program, interns gain hands-on project experience, develop technical skills, and put their classroom knowledge into action. Our interns are assigned meaningful work and are given the opportunity to work on projects similar to what they would be engaging with as a full-time employee.

• Summer-long group project where interns work alongside firm leaders to address issues that will impact our future strategy.
