Registered Nurse (RN) Dialysis

Registered Nurse (RN) Dialysis Job Type: PRN | Days Time: 630-7 MWF As a registered nurse (RN) joining our team, you will provide high quality dialysis care to patients in need of dialysis related therapy. You will collaborate closely with nephrology medical practitioners, dieticians, social workers, and vascular access departments to meet dialysis patient care needs. How you'll contribute Daily routine: Provide HD dialysis to ESRD and AKI patients using Tablo machine, oversee patients during dialysis treatment, monitor lab work and report changes to physician, assist in arranging time for physician to see patient via tele-cart, clean and disinfect machines, and complete daily dialysis audit. PRN Status: The nurse will be used on days largely when the HD nurse is on vacation, sick or during emergencies. Most days will be scheduled, but the nurse must be available for unscheduled events. Essential Functions Perform appropriate patient assessments, evaluation, ongoing monitoring, and nursing interventions in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. Assist in preparing dialysis treatment areas with needed supplies prior to starting treatments, demonstrating knowledge of nursing procedures and nursing care as it relates to renal replacement therapy. Ensure dialysis machines and equipment are maintained in good working order per policy. Provide patient and family teaching as it pertains to the treatment plan, procedures, and preventative measures throughout the rehabilitation to stay and prior to discharge. Qualifications Graduate of an approved Bachelor or Associate school of nursing and a current state license to practice nursing. At least 2 years of current experience in the specialty. Current BLS required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred. Must be able to safely operate dialysis machines.
