Estimator/Outside Sales

Job Roles And Responsibilities

Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate cost estimates.

Prepare detailed material, labor, and fabrication cost breakdowns.

Generate and submit quotes, bids, and project proposals to customers.

Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and fabrication documents.

Collaborate with engineering, shop, and production teams for accurate estimating.

Maintain records of bids, proposals, and awarded projects.

Conduct customer meetings, site visits, and shop walk-throughs.

Follow up with clients to secure projects and close sales opportunities.

Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.

Identify new business opportunities and support business development efforts.

Coordinate with internal teams to ensure project scope alignment.

Manage multiple bids and customer requests simultaneously.

Represent the company in professional client-facing interactions.

Support continuous improvement in estimating and sales processes.

Qualifications And Certifications

3+ years of experience in project estimating within fabrication or construction environments.

Hands-on experience in metal fabrication, welding, machining, or shop floor operations preferred.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and technical specifications.

Basic understanding of metal fabrication processes, materials, and industry standards.

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Proven sales or business development experience preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, email).

Familiarity with AutoCAD and SolidWorks preferred.

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines effectively.

Willingness to travel for customer meetings and site visits.

High school diploma required; technical or business education preferred.
