This is a hands-on, outdoor role that requires safe, efficient equipment operation, routine equipment checks and maintenance, and the ability to train and lead others on site. Expect full-time, field-based work with occasional overtime and travel between local sites.

What you'll do
  • Operate dozers, excavators, loaders and other heavy equipment for loading, hauling, grading and site prep
  • Perform road maintenance: spread and grade gravel, smooth surfaces, load and dump material on rough terrain
  • Trench, construct ditches and install culverts, water and sewer pipes; remove silt and debris
  • Perform pre- and post-shift equipment inspections; check and maintain fluid levels, filters, and lubrication
  • Train and mentor crew members in safe equipment operation and practical job techniques
  • Follow site safety plans, complete equipment defect reports, and assist with basic site cleanup
What we're looking for
  • Proven experience operating dozers, excavators and loaders in road or right-of-way work
  • Comfort working on rough terrain and reading grade stakes/basic site plans
  • Strong knowledge of equipment maintenance: fluid checks, lubrication and basic troubleshooting
  • Experience trenching and installing culverts, pipe and drainage structures
  • Ability to enforce inspection and test plans (ITP) and follow site-specific safety procedures
  • Reliable attendance, ability to work overtime as needed, and work well in a crew environment
Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license; CDL (Class A or B) preferred
  • Equipment operator certification or apprenticeship completion is a plus
  • OSHA 10 (preferred) or willingness to obtain site safety certifications
  • Ability to pass drug screen and background check
  • High school diploma or equivalent
What we offer
  • Overtime opportunities on project schedules
  • Company-provided PPE and site-specific safety training
  • Hands-on skills training with opportunities to move into lead/foreman roles
  • Stable, local project work with regular day shifts and occasional extended hours
