What You Will Do:

As a Surgery Physician Assistant, you will assist in surgical procedures—cauterizing wounds, placing clamps, suturing, and managing bleeding—while also providing patient care on the medical surgical floor. You'll work closely with physicians and healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes, perform rounding, manage orders, and assist in discharge planning. Your role will include assisting with General Surgery, OB/GYN, and Orthopedic cases, ensuring a seamless, high-quality surgical experience.

Required Skills:

• Current NY State Physician Assistant License
• Board Certified in Physician Assistant Studies
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in surgical or acute care settings
• Proficiency with EPIC charting and automated medication systems (Pixys)
• BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications via American Heart Association
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Ability to perform surgical first assist procedures confidently

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience assisting in Orthopedic, OB/GYN, or general surgery cases
• Experience with complex patient cases and intensive care scenarios
• Additional certifications or training in advanced surgical procedures

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
• At least 2 years of hands-on, recent surgical or hospital-based experience
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments

Other Requirements:

• Flexibility to start on 07/27/2026 and fully relocate by 08/21-08/28, if needed
• Willingness to work a full-time schedule including weekdays, weekends, and occasional call shifts (weeknights and weekends)
• Ability to adhere to strict dress code, appearance standards, and hospital policies
• Commitment to maintaining a professional, safe, and patient-focused approach at all times
