This role supports licensed nursing staff in providing high-quality care to residents in our skilled nursing facility. No certification is required, but a sincere desire to serve the elderly, a strong commitment to residents’ safety, comfort, and dignity is essential. This position also includes resident sitter duties, offering 1:1 companionship, support, and supervision to residents who require additional attention.

Work Schedule: PRN

Pay Rate: $17.00 - $20.00 / hour depending on experience

 

JOB DUTIES:

• Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, especially those requiring sitter care.

• Observe and report changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition to nursing staff.

• Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.

• Support nursing staff with non-clinical tasks such as transporting residents, restocking supplies, and assisting during mealtimes.

• Follow infection control and safety protocols at all times.

• Maintain confidentiality and uphold resident rights and dignity.

 

REQUIREMENTS /EXPERIENCE:  

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Previous experience in a healthcare or caregiving setting is a plus but not required

• Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, and staff

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

• Physical ability to lift, move, and assist residents as needed

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.

• Dependability and a strong work ethic.

• Ability to remain calm and attentive in challenging situations.
