Registered Nurse (RN) - Special Care Nursery/Couplet CareUnit: Couplet CareUnit Type: Mother Baby (Post Partum)Bed Count: 22-30 Postpartum BedsJob DetailsShift: Nights (7 PM - 7:30 AM)Shift Length: 12 hoursGuaranteed Hours: 36 hours per weekWeekend Requirement: Minimum of 3 weekend shifts (Friday and Saturday nights and 1 Sunday in a 4-week schedule)Holiday Requirement: Travelers to work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)ResponsibilitiesProvide holistic, patient-centered care to postpartum patients, including those with vaginal deliveries and C-section deliveries.Monitor patients who may be on magnesium sulfate, antibiotics, or hypertensive medications.Manage a typical patient ratio of 3:1 for couplets and 4:1 with the support of a Patient Care Technician (PCT) if needed.Perform nursing functions including IV starts as needed.Collaborate with an in-house OB Hospitalist and pediatrician available for 24/7 consultation and coverage.QualificationsExperience: Minimum of 2 years in an acute care setting, preferably in postpartum or neonatal care.Certifications: BLS Certification and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required.Floating Policy: Nurses will not float between units unless they have demonstrated competency in other areas.
