About the OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, engineering, and execution of complex commercial and industrial mechanical system projects. This position includes periodic travel and regular site visits to support project execution and ensure quality outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership & DeliveryLead mechanical engineering projects from initial concept through final completion.Manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining budget, schedule, and quality objectives.Coordinate with clients, contractors, architects, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.Conduct project meetings, site visits, and progress reviews to ensure successful execution.Support construction administration activities, including field observations, issue resolution, and project closeout.Engineering Design & Technical ExpertiseDevelop mechanical system designs for commercial and industrial facilities.Prepare construction drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation.Perform system analyses, equipment selection, and load calculations.Design and evaluate:HVAC systemsChilled and hot water systemsSteam systemsRefrigeration systemsAir distribution and ventilation systemsBuilding automation and temperature control systemsPlumbing and piping systemsFire protection support systemsEnsure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices.Client & Business DevelopmentBuild and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and technical expertise.Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities within existing and prospective client accounts.Prepare project proposals, scopes, estimates, and technical presentations.Team LeadershipMentor and support engineering staff while promoting technical excellence and continuous improvement.Contribute to engineering standards, training initiatives, and process development.Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and quality.QualificationsRequiredBachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, consulting engineering, or HVAC construction.Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, piping, ductwork, and mechanical equipment for commercial and industrial applications.Proficiency with:AutoCADRevitMicrosoft Office SuiteMicrosoft ProjectHVAC design and analysis softwarePreferredProfessional Engineer (PE) License.Active NCEES Record.Experience with critical environment or mission-critical HVAC systems.Familiarity with Trane Trace or similar load calculation software.Technical ExpertiseSuccessful candidates will possess experience in the following areas:Heat gain and heat loss calculationsEquipment selection and system analysisChilled water, hot water, glycol, and steam systemsRefrigeration applicationsSupply, return, exhaust, and ventilation systemsBuilding automation systems (BAS)Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)Construction documents and technical specificationsMechanical construction estimatingConstruction administration and field coordinationStrong working knowledge of industry codes and standards, including:ASHRAENFPAIBCASMENECASPEApplicable state and local building codesWhat Success Looks LikeThe successful Senior Mechanical Engineer will:Deliver projects on schedule and within budget.Maintain high levels of client satisfaction and project quality.Effectively lead project teams and coordinate stakeholders.Drive profitable project outcomes through sound planning and execution.Contribute to engineering excellence, operational efficiency, and business growth.Ideal Candidate ProfileYou are a technically strong engineer who enjoys solving complex challenges, building client relationships, and leading projects from design through construction.
