Senior Property AccountantBB Living is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join the accounting team of a rapidly growing company ("the Company") in the single-family "Build to Rent" industry, based in Scottsdale, Arizona. The Company has a partnership between BB Living and a large private equity institution. It is well capitalized and growing across multiple markets throughout the United States.The ideal candidate has 3-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in the multi-family property management industry. This role will be responsible for overseeing property management financial records and reports, performing variance analysis, managing the properties through the month-end close process, contributing to the budgeting process, and assisting with the annual audit. To succeed as a property accountant with BB Living, you should be able to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment, while paying high attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Candidates must be team players, self-starters, comfortable working in a collaborative environment and focused on contributing to the continuous improvement in accounting processes.Responsibilities:Manage third party property management accountants through the month-end close processReview general ledger activity and ensure accurate property-level accountingEnsure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policiesMonitor budget vs actual results and investigate any significant variancesGive directives to property management accountants on needed adjustmentsMonthly recalculation of revenue and expense amortization and accruals to ensure accuracyMonthly expense deep-diveReview monthly reporting packages for 17 propertiesWork with property accountants to forecast cash and suggest monthly distributionsSupport annual audit for related propertiesCollaboration with investment management team on annual budgeting processDevelop and document policies and procedures for corporate property accounting month end close process to work in tandem with property management month end close processWork with property management companies and asset management teams to on-board new propertiesAct as liaison between corporate accounting, corporate leadership, and property managementRequirements:Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experienceAt least 3-4 years of experience in property accountingExperience with property management software such as Real Page or Yardi is highly desirableAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and AI toolsStrong communication skills, both written and verbalGood problem-solving and time management skillsHighly organized with great attention to detailAbility to collaborate and work in a team-oriented environment is imperative
