Rheumatologist

Riceland Healthcare System is seeking a board-certified Rheumatologist to join our expanding team of healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will diagnose, treat, and manage patients with autoimmune and musculoskeletal conditions while providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with arthritis, autoimmune diseases, and musculoskeletal disorders. Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood work, imaging, and joint fluid analysis. Develop individualized treatment plans, including medication, physical therapy, and lifestyle recommendations. Administer joint injections and other in-office procedures when necessary. Collaborate with primary care physicians and specialists to ensure coordinated patient care. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in the EMR system (preferably eClinicalWorks). Educate patients about disease management and preventive care. Stay current with advancements in rheumatology research and treatment practices. Qualifications Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited institution. Training: Completion of a residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Rheumatology. Licensure: Active and unrestricted Texas Medical License (or ability to obtain). Excellent communication, diagnostic, and interpersonal skills. Commitment to high-quality, compassionate, and ethical patient care. Preferred Skills Experience using eClinicalWorks (ECW) or similar EMR systems. Interest in clinical research or academic collaboration. Ability to work effectively in a team-based healthcare environment. Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $500,000.00 per year 401(k) 401(k) matching Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Duties and Responsibilities: Greet patients and visitors in a professional, courteous manner upon arrival at the emergency room. Collect and verify patient demographic, insurance, and medical information to ensure accurate registration. Enter patient information into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system with high accuracy. Assist patients with completing necessary forms and documents, ensuring all information is obtained. Coordinate with nursing staff and other departments to ensure smooth patient flow. Answer incoming phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls as necessary. Provide information to patients and families regarding emergency room processes, wait times, and other inquiries. Ensure confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with billing and insurance verification, ensuring accurate information is collected and processed. Maintain organized records and ensure all paperwork is filed appropriately. Handle administrative tasks such as faxing, scanning, and managing patient records. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate’s degree or certification in healthcare administration preferred. Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in registration or emergency room environments, is preferred but not required. Proficiency in phone systems, computer literacy, and experience with EHR systems (Electronic Health Records). Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on phone etiquette. Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor in high-pressure situations. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
