Job Details Job Location: East Providence, RI 02914 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $22.00 - $24.75 Hourly Job Shift: 2nd Shift (4x10) Job Category: Technicians/Mechanics Shift Times: Wed–Sat, 1:00PM – 11:30PM Compensation Base pay is $22.00 - $24.75 per hour. Additional hourly differentials: Additional $2.75 per hour overnight shift differential on hours 10PM–6AM. Additional $1.75 per hour evening shift differential on hours 6PM–10PM. Additional $1 per hour shift differential for weekend hours. Annual bonuses and incentive programs may apply. What you will do Accept calls and respond to Dispatch or members with estimated time of arrival. Locate and greet members, manage their emotional state, and provide technical assistance. Assess safety of the scene upon arrival. Provide efficient minor mechanical assistance (if trained and equipped) and towing service. Ask probing questions to diagnose probable causes, determine best action, and request assistance if unsure. Perform battery boost and follow all safety procedures. Tow vehicles when required, following AAA towing manual and manufacturer specifications, while maintaining safety and service standards. Maintain AAA high standard of service and image: keep service vehicle and equipment in safe working order, maintain inventory of tools, follow traffic laws, and present a professional image. Promote AAA products and services, educate members on battery replacement, and refer calls to appropriate technicians. Work with Dispatch to get members to their intended destinations. Operate independently with minimal face‑to‑face contact, remain flexible across shifts, and work under pressure in varied conditions. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED required. Experience & Training At least 21 years of age. Post‑secondary training in automotive mechanics and familiarity with electrical troubleshooting. Licenses and Certifications Active and valid driver’s license issued by only one state or jurisdiction. DOT card pre‑hire and current within 1 year. Satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle record check during pre‑hire screening and periodically during employment.
