Retail Media Network Ads Specialist

Reports to: Omni Media Manager with VP of eCommerce and Omnichannel Growth as skip level

Role Overview

We're seeking a senior Retail Media Network Ads Specialist to direct performance media across Walmart, Amazon, Chewy, and adjacent retail media networks (e.g., Target Roundel, Petco Spot Media, TikTok Shop, etc.). The center of gravity of this role has shifted: platform AI (Amazon Ads Agent, Walmart Marty, Meta Advantage+) now owns much of the bid, targeting, and creative-generation mechanics that used to define "hands-on." This role owns directing that AI, catching what it gets wrong, and doing the judgment work AI doesn't do well: inventory-aware pacing, incrementality testing, cross-platform strategy, and executive-ready insight. Deep platform fluency is still required, but fluency now means knowing how to instruct and audit the AI, not just how to hand-build or refine every campaign or keyword list.

Scope of Responsibility

1. Walmart Connect

·        Own Walmart Connect Ads Console campaigns for our brands: Sponsored Search, Display, and CTV/DSP inventory (including Vizio, now accessible via Walmart's expanded DSP partnerships).

·        Direct Marty and Automated Creative Generation output for Sponsored Search across three brands; validate AI-generated audience, budget, and creative recommendations before activation.

·        Align execution with retail readiness, promotions, and inventory realities, including overriding AI pacing recommendations when inventory is constrained.

·        Drive continual improvement in ROAS, TACoS, and contribution margin.

2. Amazon Advertising

·        Own Amazon Ads Console campaigns for four brands: Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display.

·        Manage Amazon DSP campaigns for two brands, increasingly through Amazon's Unified Campaign Manager and Full-Funnel Campaign tools.

·        Direct and audit Amazon Ads Agent output where enabled; maintain manual control where agent access isn't yet available or isn't trusted for a given brand.

·        Align execution with retail readiness, promotions, and inventory realities.

·        Drive continual improvement in ROAS, TACoS, and contribution margin.

3. Chewy Advertising

·        Manage Chewy onsite sponsored ads: keyword strategy, bid management, campaign structure.

·        Execute Chewy-adjacent offsite advertising through Meta and TikTok, including funnel-support campaigns and, pending scope decision, direct TikTok Shop commerce activity (see open item below).

·        Ensure Chewy media plans align with category dynamics and merchandising priorities.

Core Responsibilities

Campaign Strategy and Execution

1.      Build and manage full-funnel media strategies across Walmart Connect, Amazon Ads/DSP, Chewy onsite, and Chewy-adjacent offsite.

2.      Direct AI campaign agents to launch, optimize, and scale campaigns; independently handle what AI can't (novel launches, ambiguous inventory conflicts, brand-specific exceptions) without day-to-day oversight.

3.      Apply brand-specific strategy within platform best practices, including calibrating AI tools to each brand's positioning.

Optimization and Performance Management

4.      Audit AI-driven bid, targeting, and creative decisions on a defined cadence; flag and correct systematic errors before they compound.

5.      Conduct search term/keyword, placement, audience, and creative performance analysis where AI tooling doesn't fully cover it.

6.      Proactively identify inefficiencies, growth opportunities, and testing roadmaps, including incrementality and new-to-brand measurement.

Reporting and Insights

7.      Deliver clear, concise weekly and monthly performance reporting by brand and platform, distinguishing AI-driven optimization impact from underlying demand shifts.

8.      Translate data into actionable insight, not just metrics; use natural-language AMC and Walmart data queries to accelerate diagnosis.

9.      Communicate wins, risks, and recommended next steps to the Omni Media Manager and internal stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

10.  Partner with brand, eCommerce, and creative teams to align media with business priorities.

11.  Provide creative guidance and briefs that AI creative-generation tools execute against.

12.  Support retail calendar planning: launches, promotions, tentpole events.

Required Qualifications

1.      Proven hands-on experience managing Walmart Connect (Sponsored Search, DSP, and CTV inventory), Amazon Ads Console, and Amazon DSP.

2.      Direct experience running Chewy onsite sponsored ads.

3.      Working experience directing AI-driven campaign management tools (Amazon Ads Agent, Walmart Marty, Meta Advantage+, or equivalent), not solely manual, lever-by-lever campaign management.

4.      Experience managing offsite retail media through Meta and TikTok tied to retailer objectives.

5.      Strong analytical skills with the ability to move quickly from data to decisions.

6.      Experience managing multiple brands simultaneously without quality degradation.

7.      Self-directed, highly organized, comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment with reduced day-to-day oversight.

Preferred Qualifications

1.      Experience managing pet category or other regulated categories.

2.      Familiarity with incrementality testing and new-to-brand measurement.

3.      Capability to query AMC and Walmart first-party data via natural-language/AI interfaces, not just SQL.

4.      Experience with TikTok Shop commerce operations (not just paid social), given its post-divestiture stabilization and Account Health Rating framework (effective July 2026).

5.      Comfort working with creative teams to iterate ad formats and messaging for AI-generated creative review.

6.      Experience supporting executive-level reporting and decision-making.

1.      Efficient, scalable retail media programs across Walmart, Amazon, and Chewy, with AI-driven execution properly governed rather than run unsupervised.

2.      Clear performance visibility and actionable insight for each brand, with modeled vs. actual data clearly distinguished.

3.      Consistent improvement in ROAS, incrementality, NTB, subscriptions, and contribution margin, not just top-line spend efficiency.

4.      A reliable operator who catches what the AI misses and anticipates issues before being asked.
