Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 3+ Years Required License: Active State RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI, TNCC Must-Have: - Experience with Epic charting system - Travel experience required - Ability to float within the specialty as needed Description: The Emergency Room Registered Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment, caring for a diverse patient population. Nights are scheduled three times a week from 19:30 to 08:00. Every other weekend is required. Holidays will be scheduled as needed. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:4, with up to 1:5 for lower acuity patients. The average daily census is 140 patients. The emergency room sees all age groups and a wide variety of diagnoses, including chest pain, stroke, sepsis, cardiac arrest, trauma, and respiratory illness. Registered Nurses will utilize special equipment such as Belmont for trauma, Giraffe warmer for neonates, and Rapid Infuser. Charge experience is preferred. Candidates should have skills in managing various emergencies, including acute psychosis and traumatic injuries. Preference will be given to those with trauma level II experience. Ideal candidates will have the ability to administer care to ventilated patients and conduct procedures such as intubation and chest tube management. Compliance with all required certifications and licenses is mandatory. This position offers an opportunity to work within a supportive and collaborative interdisciplinary team. Candidates must be comfortable floating within their specialty as needed.
