Graphic Designer

GalaxyCon is a festival of fandom that celebrates comic books, pop culture, sci‑fi, fantasy, anime, gaming, cosplay, and more. GalaxyCon is more than a comic-con, it’s a galaxy of fun! We are looking for a graphic designer to join our graphic design team in creating stunning and captivating designs for our live and virtual events. This position is location in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This is not a remote position. Key Responsibilities: Create visually compelling graphics for various marketing materials including social media posts, email newsletters, digital ads, print ads, flyers, brochures, and signage Assist in the development of engaging visual content for our website, blog, and social media channels to promote upcoming events, special guests, merchandise, and community initiatives. Design promotional materials and assets for our conventions and events, such as event program guides, banners, badges, and merchandise, to enhance the attendee experience and drive engagement. Work closely with cross-functional teams including programming, talents, and merchandising to understand project requirements, brainstorm ideas, and deliver high-quality design solutions that meet objectives and deadlines. Bring fresh ideas and creative concepts to the table, staying informed about design trends and industry best practices to continuously elevate our visual content and messaging. Receive and incorporate feedback from team members and stakeholders to refine designs and ensure they effectively communicate the desired message and resonate with our audience. Organize and maintain a library of digital assets, including graphics, photos, and templates, to streamline workflows and facilitate easy access for the team. Other job duties as assigned. Qualifications: High school diploma or a degree in graphic design or related field Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant design software. Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout techniques. Creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for storytelling through visual mediums. Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational and project management abilities A passion for comic books, pop culture, sci‑fi, fantasy, anime, gaming, cosplay, and more A willingness and ability to travel to GalaxyCon events, which may require working on weekends and holidays We offer a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for growth and advancement within the company.
