Food Service Director

Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center

An established skilled nursing and rehabilitation center is seeking an experienced Food Service Director to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Dietary Department.

We are looking for a hands-on leader who can manage a busy healthcare food service operation while maintaining high standards for food quality, sanitation, regulatory compliance, and resident satisfaction. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable leading and developing a dietary team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily operations of the Dietary/Food Service Department

• Supervise, schedule, train, and support dietary staff

• Ensure meals are prepared and served according to resident needs, preferences, and prescribed diets

• Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, sanitation standards, and food safety requirements

• Manage food ordering, inventory, supplies, and department expenses

• Monitor food quality, presentation, portioning, and overall resident dining experience

• Work closely with Nursing, Administration, and other departments to address resident needs

• Maintain appropriate dietary records, logs, and documentation

• Participate in facility meetings, quality initiatives, and survey preparation

• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen and dining operation

Qualifications

• Previous food service management experience required

• Healthcare, skilled nursing, senior living, or long-term care experience strongly preferred

• Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification preferred

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and healthcare dietary requirements

• Ability to manage staffing, scheduling, inventory, and department operations in a fast-paced environment
