VP, Product Management - Applied Intelligence

Role Description

The VP, Applied Intelligence is a Senior leadership role accountable for setting the AI vision that defines Billtrust’s next chapter. You will harness AI tools, co-worker agents, and frontier intelligence capabilities to architect a product strategy that reshapes how 2,600+ global customers experience the future of B2B finance.

This role demands more than AI expertise alone. It requires a genuine understanding of how money moves through complex B2B relationships, and what it takes to replace manual, error-prone financial workflows with intelligent automation that customers trust with their cash.

This is an executive mandate to define what an AI-first AR platform looks like, and to make it real at scale.

What You'll Do:

• AI Strategy & Executive Leadership
  • Set Billtrust’s Applied Intelligence vision and multi-year product roadmap.
  • Serve as a member of the Product leadership team, shaping company-wide product strategy.
  • Define the operating model for how Applied Intelligence is built, deployed, and continuously improved.
  • Other duties as assigned.
• Product Development & AI Innovation
  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for Billtrust’s AI-powered capabilities.
  • Establish rigorous frameworks for evaluating AI product performance.
  • Drive a culture of bold experimentation.
  • Partner with Engineering, Data Science, and Design to translate frontier AI capabilities into intuitive customer experiences.
• Organization Building & Talent
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a high-caliber team of product managers and applied AI practitioners.
  • Champion AI-first ways of working across the entire Product organization.
  • Create clear career pathways and a coaching culture.
• Market Presence & Commercial Impact
  • Serve as Billtrust’s most senior external voice on Applied Intelligence.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to ensure AI differentiation is communicated.
  • Engage directly with key customers to co-create AI solutions.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in product management, applied AI, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience setting AI strategy and driving AI-first transformation at scale.
• Deep understanding of machine learning, large language models, and agentic AI frameworks.
• Proven track record of building and scaling high-performing applied AI product teams.
• Fluency in FinTech data and its implications.
• Executive presence and communication skills that inspire confidence.
• Strong commercial acumen — able to connect AI product investment to revenue growth.

Requirements

• Direct experience in Order to Cash, accounts receivable, cash application, collections, or B2B payments.
• Familiarity with data structures and integration patterns common in AR automation.
• Hands-on familiarity with agentic AI architectures and enterprise production environments.
• Track record of representing product vision externally.
• Experience co-creating AI solutions with enterprise customers.
