Aircraft Composite Technician – DAS Aviation (Requisition: 1509) Cedar Hill, TX, USA Full Time | On-Site Join a leading aircraft repair organization committed to employee growth, safety, and a culture of respect. Benefits begin immediately with medical, dental, 401(k) match, paid time off, and weekly pay. Responsibilities Repair composite parts/components using wet layup and prepreg techniques. Use clean‑room procedures and cure parts in autoclave or controlled oven. Apply bonding methods such as co‑curing, co‑bonding, secondary bonding, metal bonding, liquid adhesive bonding, and film bonding. Operate close‑tolerance measuring tools (scales, micrometers, calipers, depth gauges). Use hand tools (drill motors, die grinders, rivet guns, fastener installation tools). Perform alignment/assembly with jigs, templates, and fixtures. Wear PPE when cutting, grinding, blending, and sanding. Bag components for a variety of shapes and styles. Operate hot‑bonder type curing machines. Maintain, clean, and repair shop facilities, equipment, and tooling. Safely operate curing oven, autoclave, and vacuum systems. Navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases. Effectively communicate in English (speak, write, read). Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Must‑Have Education High‑school diploma or equivalent. Airframe and Powerplant license not required but welcomed. Experience Journeyman: 0‑5 years of composite technician experience. Master: 5+ years of composite technician experience. Additional Qualifications Team player, self‑motivated, and able to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license or passport for airline travel (ideal but not mandatory). Adherence to FAA guidelines, company safety rules, and customer‑oriented work habits. Willingness to attend all scheduled shifts, with overtime available as workflow permits. Ability to notify supervisor in advance if unable to work. Physical Requirements Lifts up to 50 lbs. Routine walking, bending, squatting or sitting. Repetitive arm and hand motion. Climbs ladders and stairs, works in small restricted areas. Stands for long periods. Mental & Regulatory Requirements Understand and implement regulations and guidelines. Troubleshoot and evaluate system operation. Work professionally with others. Supervision & Working Conditions Work under the supervision of an assigned Team Leader in controlled industrial warehouse environments. May involve multiple departments including Teardown/Evaluation, Nacelles, and Composite. Equipment Personal hand tools supplied by mechanic. Pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment.
