Job Title: RN - Emergency Department Profession: Nursing Specialty: Agency Staff RN Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Registered Nurse (RN) Certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC, ENPC, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Positive bedside manner - Prioritization skills - Good time management Description: Deliver nursing care responsibly and accountably as described by the professional nursing standards. Demonstrate competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Uphold the standards of professional performance, including ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. Strive to achieve optimal outcomes. Education: - Associate's Degree in Nursing required - Bachelor’s Degree in Science of Nursing must be obtained within required timeframe based on start date Required Experience: - Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program - Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills - Strong time management and organizational skills Essential Functions: Provide evidence-based nursing care consistent with the interprofessional plan of care. Communicate and collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure continuity and coordination of care. Act as a patient/family advocate. Perform point of care testing as required. Demonstrate a high standard of moral, ethical, and culturally sensitive behavior. Formulate decisions and actions based on ethical principles. Advocate for privacy, confidentiality, and security of patient, staff and organizational data. Assess the overall needs of the patient/family and analyze assessment data to identify potential diagnoses or issues. Identify expected outcomes/goals and develop and implement an individualized interprofessional plan of care. Evaluate patient and family educational needs and employ appropriate teaching strategies. Initiate patient discharge planning at first patient contact and facilitate transitions. Ensure accurate and timely documentation. Assume a leadership role and delegate appropriately to unlicensed assistive personnel. Engage in activities related to the professional role and seek continual advancement in knowledge and competence. Participate in ongoing improvement activities that contribute to quality patient care. Actively participate in safety initiatives and complete all position and unit safety-related competencies. Perform other duties as assigned.
