Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while embracing the core values of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission to form an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to the diagnosis of each patient through collaboration with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates for team conferences.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in accordance with policy.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, focusing on quality outcomes and patient education.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to support continuity of care.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Assure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital and nursing policies.
• Engage in team-building activities to foster a positive work environment.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs, supplies, and equipment.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested after the orientation period.
• Actively pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (specific to designated units).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Schedule

Day shift, 3x12 hour shifts.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
