Job OpportunityPositions Location: Lansing, MIJob DescriptionGeneral Purpose of Job: Responsible for the daily nursing activities in the office.Essential Duties:This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.Provides care for clients under established protocol or under the direction and/or supervision of a physician. Coordinates care with the individual client, family and other health care providers as necessary. Assists the physician during procedures and monitors the client.Administers medications, performs diagnostic procedures and treatments.Performs post operation care.Completes an in-depth history and nursing assessment relative to individual needs.Provides appropriate teaching for clients and their families based on medical/nursing diagnosis and nursing assessment to enhance health promotion, and disease prevention.Documents care, maintains an appropriate and accurate written record of interaction, including chief complaint, symptoms, plan and action.Schedules appropriate lab/diagnostic procedures and provides related teaching. Assists with follow up on abnormal laboratory and diagnostic test results.Provides emotional support and professional guidance to the client and family.Performs phone triage.In conjunction with the Manager and Sparrow Quality Department, develops, implements and monitors quality standards for the practice site(s) per mandated guidelines.Interacts with pharmacists to renew prescriptions and to place orders for newly prescribed drugs.Assumes preceptor role for new Caregivers and/or students in conjunction with Practice Supervisor or Clinical CoordinatorAssist in developing and implementing quality control and practice policies.Maintains professional and practice standards by participating in in-service meetings and other educational opportunities including committee involvement.Maintains a safe working environmentJob RequirementsGeneral Requirements:Demonstrates knowledge and maintains and respects patient right to privacy by following the HIPAA Privacy and Security policies and procedures. Works in a safe manner and promptly reports any hazards identified in the work environment or related to assigned responsibilities.Work Experience:Specialty clinics may require one year of ambulatory specialty experience Experience with an EMR preferredEducation:Current MI License to practice as a Registered Nurse Graduate of an accredited registered nursing programSpecialized Knowledge and Skills:Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans Demonstrates ability to function in a team environment, including excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, their families, providers and co-workers Provides care for patients which is age-specific to meet their physical and safety needs, psychosocial concerns, and educational level Ability to work in an EMR environment Requires visual and auditory acuity necessary to monitor patients condition and operate office equipment
