Duties

Help

• You will review and evaluate contractors proposals.
• You will provide input to/or negotiate labor and material cost.
• You will conduct technical advisory reviews of contract specifications to evaluate contactor estimates.
• You will accomplish ship inspections to determine the ships material conditions and the systems and components parts.
• You will perform long range planning, estimating and accomplish technical analyst of customer and contractor proposals.
• You will provide prompt communication with waterfront support.

• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You may be required to be Non Destructive Testing qualified within 24 months of employment.
• You will be required to complete the designated CNRMC workforce development training for Shipbuilding within 24 months of employment.
• You may be required to be National Association Corrosion Engineers Coating Inspector Program 1 qualified within 24 months of employment.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing inspections of depot-level naval vessel overhaul, repair, or modernization activities by executing planning, ship checks, material procurement, and work-specification reviews to support compliance with contractual requirements.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting with depot-level naval vessel overhaul, repair, or modernization activities by supporting planning, contracting, ship checks, material procurement, and work-specification execution to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

GS-11 Grade level

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

OR

Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.

OR

Possession of an LL.M. that is related to this position being filled.

OR

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience

GS-09 Grade level

Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree

OR

Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree

OR

Possession of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to this position being filled.

OR

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience
