Industrial Lift Truck Maintenance Technologist (Mid-Level)

Your mission: keep critical material handling fleets safe, reliable, and ready. In this mid-level role, you’ll specialize in either LP or electric systems while performing full-spectrum maintenance on both. You’ll report to a lead technician or manager and collaborate with senior Level 3 technicians as needed.

Role highlights

• Preventive maintenance on LP and electric forklifts
• Fluid management: engine oil, transmission fluid, differential gear lube, hydraulic fluid
• Filter replacements: air, oil, fuel, ATF
• Tune-ups: valve adjustments, spark plug and wire replacement
• Brake and riser adjustments
• Wheel bearing inspections and repacking
• Battery care on schedule: inspection and watering
• Battery removal, repair, and installation
• Cosmetic upkeep: equipment paint touch-ups
• Attachment pad rotations
• Component swaps: horns, lights, tires, and related parts
• Diagnose and correct basic overheating conditions
• Steering system troubleshooting and repair
• Performance expectations: ≥30 PMs/month and 80–90% productivity

Required background

• 1–2 years troubleshooting experience on electric or LP equipment
• Demonstrated ability to execute basic repairs on electric or LP forklifts and attachments
• Working knowledge of electrical, LP, and hydraulic systems; DVOM proficiency
• Ability to interpret wiring schematics and follow service manuals
• Customer service mindset; effective oral and written communication
• Comfort with MS Office and related computer applications
• Personal hand tools required
• Post–high school/technical education preferred, not required

Work conditions

• Lift/pull 75 lbs or more without restriction
• Operate outdoors in adverse weather
• Work in environments with high noise and respiratory hazards without restriction
• Stand or lie down for extended repair tasks
• Flex, reach, and maneuver to access difficult components
• Travel as needed
