Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) / Medical Social Worker (MSW) Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Master of Social Work (MSW) to join our growing behavioral health team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health services to individuals experiencing emotional, behavioral, and psychological challenges. You will play a key role in supporting patient recovery, improving coping skills, and promoting overall well-being.

This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary primary care and behavioral health setting, delivering evidence-based psychotherapy and care coordination services that address both clinical and psychosocial needs.

Position Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to evaluate emotional, behavioral, and psychosocial needs
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Provide individual psychotherapy utilizing evidence-based approaches such as:
• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
• Motivational Interviewing
• Solution-Focused Therapy
• Trauma-informed interventions
• Deliver therapy to adult and/or pediatric populations
• Identify and respond appropriately to crisis situations
• Document patient progress accurately and timely in the EHR
• Collaborate with primary care providers, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated, whole-person care
• Participate in care coordination, resource linkage, and patient advocacy (particularly for MSW candidates)
• Support group therapy or family counseling services as needed

Qualifications

• Active Florida LMHC license or MSW (LCSW preferred or license-eligible) in good standing
• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
• Experience providing psychotherapy to adults and/or pediatric patients
• Training or experience in CBT, addiction counseling, child/family counseling, or group therapy highly desirable
• Strong patient assessment skills and ability to recognize signs of crisis
• Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills
• Comfortable with or willing to learn EHR and telehealth platforms
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and work effectively in a team-based environment
• Passion for delivering high-quality, compassionate mental health care
