Escrow Assistant

Position Summary Old Republic Title is seeking an Escrow Assistant with familiarity with real estate transactions from beginning to end. This in-office role will be responsible for opening, processing, and funding refinance and sale transactions. The Escrow Assistant communicatively interacts with lenders, buyers/sellers, realtors, co-workers, and all department personnel. The person must work well under pressure with accuracy, attention to detail, and maintain confidentiality. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Verifies and reviews all information in the preliminary report/ title commitment, clearing title requirements by researching discrepancies, obtaining lien releases, and clearing encumbrances. Requests payoff, HOA, and utility demands that appear on preliminary report or title commitment and/or Seller/Borrower Information Sheets. Pulls tax roll from assessor, reviews accuracy, and identifies potential assessments or liens. Assists in quoting fees and charges. Requests/authorizes loans to fund, receives funds, disburses funds, including sending payoffs. Schedules appointments and assembles documents for signing both inside and outside the office. Uploads all documents into the appropriate category in the electronic filing system. Prepares funding packages, provides conditions, and receives funds. Complies with company policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and completes mandatory compliance training by specified deadlines. Works overtime as requested, attends after-hour events, and maintains dependable, reliable attendance. Takes constructive feedback, collaborates with all management levels, and demonstrates courtesy and professionalism. Performs other duties that may be assigned. Knowledge and Skills Required Knowledge of title insurance policies, endorsements, and title pricing. Knowledge of escrow documents, escrow fees, and terminology. Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills, prioritizing and handling multiple projects. Independent judgment, initiative, and sound decision-making. Clear, grammatically correct written and verbal communication; active listening; awareness of body language and non-verbal cues.
