Job Description

As a Costing Clerk, you will support purchasing and costing functions by preparing purchase orders, tracking material requests, and maintaining accurate cost information. You will work closely with vendors and internal departments to monitor pricing, availability, order status, and incoming materials. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with numbers, and able to manage multiple administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Compile and review material requests for new quotes and prepare cost estimates
• Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders, including delivery timelines and order status
• Maintain and update raw material costs and perform accurate purchasing and costing data entry
• Review previous work orders, assist with job costing, and identify cost variances as needed
• Communicate with vendors and internal teams regarding pricing, availability, purchase orders, and inbound shipments

Qualifications and Requirements

• Previous experience in costing, purchasing, material quoting, material requisitions, or administrative support
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook
• Strong data entry, organizational, and communication skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain accuracy while managing multiple duties
• Experience with shipping, logistics, and vendor coordination preferred; AS400 experience is helpful but not required

The base pay for this position is $16.50 per hour, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Final compensation will depend on skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity.
